Learn Massage FAQs
Do I need experience of massage to come on a workshop?
Not at all. It doesn’t matter whether you have never received or given a massage before, you can take part in a massage workshop, or the professional training.
I have some experience of giving massage to family and friends - will I benefit from an intro course?
Yes! An intro course will give you more techniques to play with and show you how to massage without straining your body. It can benefit anyone who doesn’t have professional training in massage.
Do I need someone to practise on before or after the course?
You don’t need to practise before the course. Hopefully afterwards you will want to try out what you have learnt, but you don’t need to have a specific practise buddy lined up.
My loved one has aches and pains - will I be able to help them?
Yes. On my introductory course you will learn a few ways to work with your nearest and dearest to ease stress and tension. They need to be aware that you won’t be able to offer a professional massage, but it will be a nurturing experience you can both enjoy.
I have aches and pains - can I show my loved one how to ease them after a workshop?
Yes and if you can, take the workshop together so you both get a chance to give and receive. Learning to give massage will also help you feel more at ease in your body and may release some of your aches.
Will I be able to offer massage professionally after the intro course?
No. A professional massage diploma takes 11 months - an introductory course isn’t going to equip you to work with people on a professional level. It would be damaging to yourself and others to try.
I have a medical condition or disability, can I still learn massage?
In most cases, yes, though some conditions rule out learning massage. If you are in any doubt, check with your doctor then give me a call.
